Eighty years on. 15th December 1939

The Soviet Army assaulted Taipale, Finland.  Taipale is on the western shore of Lake Ladoga, at the eastern end of the Mannerheim Line.

British Prime Minister Chamberlain visited troops on the western front.

It was reported that in Germany ersatz coffee was being produced from barley, figs and berries.

Game day 106. China

The depleted infantry corps south of Peking counterattacked the armoured battalion occupying the city.  The Japanese were eliminated but the Chinese lost two battalions in the assault, and were unable to take the city.

Three infantry corps in China and Sinkiang moved eastwards towards Peking and Shanghai.
