Eighty years on. 16th December 1939

The Italian Foreign Minister, Count Caleazzo Ciano, denounced Russia’s attack on Finland.  Finnish ski troops had been wreaking havoc amongst Russian supply columns in hit and run attacks.  The attack was held in the south, the Russians had been making more progress north of Lake Ladoga where the Finns were spread thinner along the Mannerheim line.

Game day 107. Finland

France being inactive, the turn passed to Finland.

The Finnish Infantry Corps fell back to defend Helsinki from a possible Russian outflanking attack.  A direct attack on a similar sized Russian Corps would only aid the defenders.  The Finns waited for the Russians to bring the war to them.
