We got an electrician in to install new sockets.
He installed a new switchbox because the old one was insufficient to cope.
I had to get another electrician to fix a couple of sockets that had apparently been wrongly wired (but working) for the previous 25 years, now tripping the circuit breaker in the new switchbox
Now needing a smart meter installed it seems that the new switchbox is within 5cm. of the input box and must be moved before any further work can be done.
