The Battle of Raate Road ended in Finnish victory.  It was reported that the Russians had lost 50,000 men in the previous five weeks.

German documents record an attack on this date by the German First Minesweeper Flotilla on an unidentified submarine near Heligoland. Since the British submarine Seahorse was on patrol at the time but never returned, it is thought to have been sunk in this attack.  The British submarine Undine was also attacked and badly damaged near Heligoland by three German minesweepers. Early the next day the submarine was scuttled and the crew taken prisoner.
