In Britain, a new national savings scheme to help fund the war effort was introduced.  Shipping warrants, first issued by Britain in 1915, for neutral ships carrying no cargo harmful to the allied war effort, were reintroduced.

In the east, all the infantry corps had reached the furthest south-west point of their respective areas.

In the west, 4^th Armoured Corps, 10^th and 11^th Infantry Corps continued to move to the south-west in Ukraine and Caucasus.
