Eighty years on. 5th November 1939

Hitler decided on 12th November as the date for the invasion of France, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Winston Churchill as First Lord of the Admiralty visited the French Marine HQ in Paris.

Colonel Jacobus Sas, the Dutch Military Attaché in Berlin, sent a message received from Colonel Hans Oster of the German Military intelligence Department, that an attack was planned within a few days.  King Leopold of the Belgians and Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands conferred about their next actions.

Game day 66. Netherlands

Although neutral, the Netherlands saw the potential threat of Japanese expansion and raised a defence corps in the Dutch East Indies.
