The German Army pushed French forward troops back to the Maginot Line near Saarbrucken.  Kriegsmarine warships were ordered to torpedo Allied merchant ships without warning in future.

JU88s attempted to bomb British warships in the Firth of Forth but were chased off by RAF spitfires.  The destroyer HMS Mohawk was hit and 12 seamen were killed.

2^nd and 4^th Infantry Corps attacked Japanese 2^nd Infantry Corps in Peking.  12 attacks at 1, vs 6 defends at 3 (city defence).  4 successful attacks. 3 successful defends (1 against 2^nd Corps, 2 against 4^th Corps.)
